Lamar Odom's 15 year old daughter Destiny and Khloe Kardashian were once 'besties' but after Khloe filed for divorce, Destiny has taken sides with her father and calling Khloe out online.
Destiny Odom spoke out publicly over the weekend saying that she hopes her father never gets back with Khloe
“No one thought they were going to last, so honestly, who cares. I don’t want it to happen anyways. I have him all to myself now!” she wrote on her ask.fm page when a fan asked about the divorce.And When asked if she would still be cool with Khloe after the divorce, Destiny simply responded “hahahahaahaahaa.”

Doctors set to begin nationwide strike on Wednesday...

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), has directed all medical doctors to begin a nationwide strike on Wednesday, December 18.
According to the NMA president, Osahon Enabulele, the strike is in recognition of the extremely poor progress in the resolution of the demands of the association, as well as the expiration of the ultimatum issued to the Federal Government, which has expired on Saturday, December 14.
He said, “The association is constrained to declare an industrial action with effect from Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Accordingly, doctors in public health institutions shall withdraw their services with effect from 8 am on Wednesday, December 18, 2013″

This was made known in a communiqué issued by the NMA after a week-long 2013 December National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting (“Minna 2013”), Emergency Delegates Meeting (EDM), as well as the 1st Senator (Dr) Dalyop Gyang Dantong Memorial Lecture.

According to the President of the association, for over five months now, the NMA has recurrently engaged the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on issues bordering on some health sector challenges, workplace conditions and the conditions of service of doctors.

Enabulele said, “On September 2, 2013, the NMA issued a 21-day-ultimatum to the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the issues tabled by the association. However, based on the understanding reached following the intervention of the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, the NMA decided to extend her ultimatum by four weeks at her emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on September 22, 2013.

“Following the expiration of the additional four weeks grace granted to the Federal Government, the NMA again magnanimously extended twice the ultimatum on account of the Government’s constitution of a Presidential Committee and promise to speedily resolve the issues contained in the requests of the NMA.

Sadly, since the report of the Presidential Committee was submitted to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, only the re-constitution and inauguration of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has been realised. The inauguration of MDCN which took place on November 25, 2013 was even after the Government reneged on an earlier signed agreement with NMA to reconstitute and inaugurate MDCN within 21 days (that is, by September 30, 2013).

“There has been no significant attention by the government to other issues bordering on workplace conditions and injustice meted out to doctors in their conditions of service and funding/ infrastructural and equipment upgrade of the health sector.”

Continuing, he said, “The Association noted her patriotic efforts to further engage the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Health (following the invitation of the Honourable Minister of Health to a meeting) even at the eleventh hour but which collapsed following the unserious attitude of the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Health who seem less bordered about the potential crisis that was bound to erupt from Saturday, December 14, 2013.”

However, Enabulele said, in recognition of the yuletide season and the appeals of well-meaning Nigerians and friends in the fourth estate of the realm, the withdrawal of services in this first instance shall be for a period of five days but shall recommence after the yuletide season.

Bemoaning the abysmal low percentage health coverage of Nigerians put at about six per cent, the NMA called on the government to urgently invest more in the health of Nigerians through a Universal Health Fund in recognition of the fact that achieving Universal Health Coverage was fundamental to ensuring adequate health care for Nigerians.
The NMA also restated the urgent need for government to sponsor a Hospital Development and Intervention Fund (HDIF) in the health industry to drive the development of modern and world class health infrastructure in the country and stem capital flight as a result of medical tourism.

Congratulating Dr Godwin Nosa Bazuaye and his team in the achievement of a second successful stem cell transplant in a 15 year old Nigerian with Sickle cell disorder, with his conversion from HBSS genotype to HBAA genotype, the NMA acknowledged the success of her National Committee on Stem Cell Transplant and Genetic Engineering in organising a hugely successful International Scientific Workshop at UBTH, Benin in collaboration with the Benin Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Society (BBTS).

Video: 2 of the 6 men who raped a 16 year old girl in Akure, paraded

Two of the six cult boys who raped a 16 year old secondary school student in Akure, Ondo State last week have been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

The men, said to members of a cult group known as Blue Angel, saw the girl as she was returning from school, they stopped her, took her to their hideout and raped her. All six of them. They recorded the act with a mobile phone and threatened to post the video online if she told anyone what happened.

Fortunately she did and two of the rapists, Wale Fadahunsi, 28, and Banji Olaseinde, 25, have been arrested, while four others are on the run. Those on the run include Tope Oluwole; Tope Jigan and Muyideen. The two that were arrested were paraded a few days ago where they confessed to raping the helpless girl whose identity is being concealed because of her age. Watch the video after the cut..

Pastor stabs wife for refusing ...

Pastor Daniel Samuel has been arrested by the police for stabbing his wife in the neck over her refusal to attend church activities.
The incident which had the apostolic church pastor use a cutlass to inflict a deep cut on his wife, Patience, occured in Owode-Egba, Ibafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The crime was comitteed simply because she gave preference to her work over the church programmes.

It was further gathered that shortly after the man attacked his wife with cutlass, he alerted the neighbours that his wife was matcheted by some unknown men, urging the people to help him take her to the hospital.

But when the victim was taken to Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba in Abeokuta, because of the level of the injury, the doctor, insisted that the case should be reported to the Police as she commenced the treatment.

The pastor was said to have quickly rushed to Owode-Egba Divisional Police headquarters to report the case but, reportedly lied to the police that the woman was wounded by some unknown men.

The Police after investigations discovered that the man was responsible and subsequently detained him.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the pastor would soon be charged to court.

Adejobi further explained that the pastor had confessed to the crime after an interrogation, adding that he would be charged for false information and wounding.

“The Pastor is with us, he initially lied to the Police that the wife was attacked by some men but later confessed after interrogation. As such he will soon be charged to court for false information and wounding,” the PPRO said.

When newsmen visited the hospital, Mrs Samuel was still in a very critical condition as her bed sheet was soaked with blood but managed to utter some few words which were incoherent.

The Consultant of Orthopaedics and Trauma who was in charge of the patient, Doctor Ojeblenu told our correspondent that the woman would still be under close observation because of the depth of the injury and the psychological trauma she might be going through.

Nigerian Army Recruits 5,890 Soldiers

The military in Nigeria is insisting that it will continue to increase its mental and physical capacity, in order to effectively fight insecurity in the country.
In its bid to shore up its manpower, the Nigerian Army has injected 5,890 recruits into the force.

During their Passing Out Parade at the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria, Kaduna State, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Azubuike Ihejirika, told the new soldiers that the Boko-Haram threat in the North-Eastern part of the country demands that the Armed Forces maintain a well-trained and disciplined force.

Lieutenant-General Azubuike Ihejirika said: “Nigerian Army’s mission to win all land battles, defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria, protect and advance her national interest as may be assigned in aid to civil authority, remains a task we must never fail to accomplish no matter the odds.

“Therefore, I urge you to remain selfless, disciplined, loyal and determined. As you are aware, the contemporary security challenges in our country demands that the army maintain a well-trained and disciplined force to provide appropriate response.

“Let me emphasise that our constitutional responsibilities demands that we defend the nation from external aggression, maintain its territorial integrity and secure the border from violation by land, sea and air.

“Remember that the military profession has no place for the weak and feeble minded. You must understand that the military service is all about sacrifice, honour, discipline, loyalty, perseverance and valour.

He further reminded the soildiers, “by the taking of oath of allegiance today, you are now subject to both civil and military laws. You must therefore avoid anything that has the propensity to tarnish your image, the army and the nation”,

Ihejirika also assured the new recruits of being exposed to further training in counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operation.

5,890 is the highest number of soldiers to be trained at once, since the inception of the Nigerian ArmyDepot , Zaria in 1924.

Okorocha Emerges Chairman Of Progressive Governors Forum

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), comprising 16 state governors who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Friday announced the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha as Chairman of the Forum.
An official statement signed by the Director General of the Progressive Governors Forum, Salihu Moh. Lukman, revealed that Governor Okorocha emerged Chairman following a unanimous election.

“The election of Okorocha is in furtherance of the commitment of the 16 Progressive Governors to strengthen democratic governance structures in the country with the overriding goal of rescuing Nigeria and facilitating the emergence of accountable leadership at all levels, led by APC,” the statement read.

As the Chairman of the forum, Okorocha is expected to provide leadership to help the PGF realise the collective vision of the members, as well as to “engender expeditiously exemplary human development programmes and policies in all APC states.”

The statement further read that: “Considering how consistently the PDP has attacked the foundations of our democracy, and the subsequent erosion of Nigerians’ hard-won freedoms, the PGF under Okorocha’s leadership pledges to mobilize citizens towards expanding and deepening democratic structures by focusing on initiatives to guarantee the development of participatory governance structures as well as the guarantee of transparent, credible elections and the results of which will reflect the votes of Nigerian people.”
